7-Day Thailand Itinerary: Bangkok, Phuket, and Pattaya

Table of Contents

How the Week Splits

Three nights in Bangkok for the city and culture, one travel day, then three nights on the coast — Phuket for resort beaches and island trips, or Pattaya for a shorter transfer and more day-trip variety. This itinerary uses Phuket; swapping in Pattaya only changes the transfer.

Days 1–3: Bangkok

  • Day 1 — arrive, check in, evening at a riverside market or a rooftop.
  • Day 2 — Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew early, Wat Pho, then a longtail boat through the canals; evening at Asiatique.
  • Day 3 — a day trip to the Damnoen Saduak floating market and the Maeklong railway market, or the ruins of Ayutthaya; evening free for shopping.

Day 4: Travel to Phuket

A short domestic flight gets you south by lunchtime. Check in near Karon or Kata for a quieter beach, or Patong if you want the action. Spend the afternoon on the sand.

Days 5–6: Phuket and the Islands

  • Day 5 — full-day speedboat to the Phi Phi islands: Maya Bay, Pileh Lagoon, snorkelling, and Monkey Beach.
  • Day 6 — Phuket at your own pace: Big Buddha, Wat Chalong, Karon viewpoint, and Old Phuket Town, with the evening free.

Day 7: Departure

A relaxed morning and a transfer to Phuket airport for your flight home, connecting through Bangkok if needed.
